Hi, I’m Blake!

Owner of bctek

I help small businesses get their technology working, keep it reliable, and make changes without the runaround.

I have worked across streaming media, web hosting, and small-business technology.

My hope is to give local businesses a dependable person to call when technology becomes a distraction from the work they are trying to do.

The story behind bctek

Growing up in Anderson, technology was always the thing people brought to me.

If a computer was acting strange, a network was not working, or somebody needed to figure out how all the equipment fit together, I was usually the person they called. I liked taking something confusing, finding the real problem, and making it understandable again. That instinct became a career.

I was also a first-year student at Anderson New Technology High School, an early part of the Anderson community that shaped me.

Over the last 15 years, I have worked across onsite support, commercial network installation, systems administration, cloud infrastructure, customer onboarding, and technical consulting. I have been the person in the field, the person on the phone, and the person responsible for getting a complicated deployment across the finish line.

My larger professional work has included commercial network designs, live-streaming infrastructure for broadcast operations, enterprise technology onboarding, and migrations from legacy web platforms into AWS and Azure. I have supported professional environments connected with Verizon, Red Bull, Rite Aid, Fox, and NBC. My local and field-service work has also included Black Bear Diner, Tropics, Caltrans, Rite Aid, and Grow Generation.

bctek is the local version of that same approach. I help a business get its network, computers, cloud services, security, backups, cameras, point-of-sale equipment, and day-to-day technology under control. Sometimes that means a focused repair. Sometimes it means designing and installing the infrastructure a business will rely on for years.

How I work

Technology should make the day easier.

I genuinely like helping people. There is something satisfying about taking a stressful technology problem and giving someone back a clear answer and a working solution.

The approach is simple: listen carefully, find the real issue, explain the options, and take care with the fix. If something can wait, I will say so. When a job calls for resources beyond what I can provide alone, I am glad to partner with trusted resources so the work is handled properly.

I also understand that technology is not the business. It is the thing that should let the business serve customers, take payments, communicate, keep records, and get through the day without unnecessary friction. The goal is not to make your systems impressive. The goal is to make them dependable.

If something in your business is unreliable, confusing, or slowing people down, I would be glad to hear about it and see whether bctek can help.
